Devo – Duty Now for the Future (1979)

    • Comments:   Remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes. Everything sounds just right on this reissue. The vinyl itself is top quality as well as the reproduced artwork. Personally, it’s a toss up between this and the first album (Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!) as to which is my favourite. They don’t make bands like this anymore.

    • Comments:   Very early, if not original, Australian pressing with non-censored cover. Picked up recently for a few bucks. A good example of getting what you pay for. This is a crackly mess. The music still comes through and it sounds OK, but nowhere near as good as the Audio Fidelity CD version. Looks like I’ll be hunting down a US original.

Fleetwood Mac – Rumours (1977)

    • Comments:   2 x 180 gram / 45RPM reissue. Mastered at AcousTech Mastering by two of the best in the business. Pressed at Pallas in Germany. Premium quality gatefold cover. Arguably the definitive version of this iconic album. Mastered from the original master tapes in 2007 and, bafflingly, shelved until 2011. Then released in such small numbers that more had to be pressed almost immediately. This really does sound incredible. Also available in 33RPM and just as good (to my ears).
