Experience Hendrix / Legacy
Originally Released: March 2013
This Release: March 2013
Mastering: Bernie Grundman
Comments: Supposedly the last album of unreleased studio material to be released by Experience Hendrix (according to Eddie Kramer). This consists of material that Jimi was working on between 1968 and 1969, mostly with the Billy Cox and Buddy Miles. As always, there’s plenty here to love. As for the sound, it is fantastic. No surprises as it was cut all-analogue by Bernie Grundman. The gatefold cover art is truly beautiful (the pictures don’t do it justice). There’s two slabs of 200 gram vinyl, pressed at Quality Record Pressings, which is fast becoming the premier pressing plant in the USA, if not the world. The vinyl is clean, quiet and dead flat. There’s also a nice booklet with recording info for each track. If you’re a Hendrix fan, this is a must.
Do you have this pressing? If so, what do you think? Do you have a different pressing? How is it? Please feel free to comment.
